I made my first 3-D card ever, and I am very pleased with the outcome.
I took Sunehra’s explosion box from Itsy Bitsy as my inspiration 🙂
Here’s how the box looks
The flowers on the top of the box are handmade using the tattered florals die.
I have distressed the flowers with worn lipstick, and dusty concord.
The circular background is white CS distressed using worn lipstick and tattered rose, and then stamped with flowers inked with dusty concord.
I have also embossed the stamped flowers with clear embossing powder.
The sentiment is hand-written.
This is how the box looks when it is fully open.
For the sides I have cut PPs and distress them on the edges. I have used worn lipstick again. The small motif on the side is made from Fabriano Violet CS, and a Spellbinders die. I drew a small pattern onto the motif with Inksenntials clear embossing pen, and embossed the design with sea-foam white embossing powder.
Here are the individual panels.
The CS is MME Howdy Doody Designer PP, that I won from Crafters Corner through BGC. I love this PP. I did not realise how beautiful it is until I sed it on the card.
These are chipboard pieces that I cut out using the tattered florals die. I distressed the edges with Worn Lipstick, and wrote on it using a black felt pen.
This is a chipboard that I cut out using the tattered florals die. again I distressed the edges with Worn Lipstick and Walnut Stain
The PPs used below are from DCWV stack 8. This Paper pad is so versatile, that you almost need nothing else when you have it.
Again, the PP is from Stack 8. The foam alphabets are local buy. Cost me 20 rupees from 100 pieces.
Again, PP from Stack 8, and the die I have used here is Couture Creations Victorian Square.
Finally the little basket in the middle, is an upcycled coffee cup :D. I draped it in PP using kraft glue. Then stuck a few foam flower stickers, the flowers on the top of the mini-vase are handmade+local buy. Placed a leafy flourish in the background and I was all done!
This card is for a very special lady in my life. She was the one who took care of me and my little brother(when we were kids) when I mom went to work, and my aunt(mom’s sister) was out of town.
She was the one who taught me “kandha sashti kavasam”, which I still remember. She is a very remarkable person in my life, and now she’s just out of surgery. She has had a knee replacement, and is going through a lot of stuff on a personal basis as well. So, I made this card hoping it will cheer her up a little bit.
Keeping this wonderful lady in my prayers and thoughts. May she get well soon.
