A Stamped Card – Happy Birthday

DSC00321

I made this card for Manju’s Birthday. She’s a very dear friend of mine.

The only stamping I’ve done before is stamping sentiments on the page. So, this is kinda my first attempt at proper stamping.

So here is where I took my inspiration from

Crafters Corner – Stamping Challenge

ICR27 – One layered card + Use the same stamp multiple times

Beyond Grey Challenges – Fetch that Sketch.

For the love of crafting – Seasons Challenge – Spring

It was really difficult to not use layers, especially when trying to case the below sketch.

Fetch That Sketch – BGC Challenge

I rotated the sketch anti-clockwise to suit my card.

So firstly, I masked a rectangular area inside my card, and distressed the edges with Tattered Rose.

Then I stamped the Flower pattern using Black Soot. I stamped the same image on a piece of paper and masked the flower on the card, then I went over the masked image with a border stamp inked in Pine Needles a couple of times. I repeated the pattern to the sides with Tattered Rose.

I should say I was please with the outcome.

I then added a few leaves, a swirl and a cute sentiment in Pine Needles. Finally I colored the flower using a Red Sketch Pen 😀

I really hope I did justice to both the challenges. I am starting to get addicted to BGC Challenges, cuz I think they are making me improve as a paper crafter!

Supplies

All my stamps are from Stampendous – Yay! I recently purchased a whole lot of stamps from Stampendous through a friend in the US. I just received them a couple of days back. I love them. They stamp so much better than the Inkadinkado stamp set I have!

Distress Inks – Tattered Rose, Pine Needles and Black Soot.

Only during this project did I realize how many more distress inks that I would like to have. I am sorely missing Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters, Crushed Olives and Aged Mahogany! Should add them to my stash soon 🙂

I really hope Manju likes the card I made for her!
